At 18:30 on Thursday 17th May 2018, 75 years after The Dambusters raid in Germany, The Central Band of the Royal Air Force and The Queen's Colour Squadron, RAF Regiment, performed a sunset ceremony outside Cardiff's City Hall, complete with a flypast!

The evening began with a marching display by both The Central Band of the RAF and the Q.C.S before the band performed Fanfare and Flourishes by James Curnow, Happy plus a medley of RAF music ending with The Dambusters march.

The event also coincided with the RAF 100 National Aircraft Tour which was opening the next day on the green in front of City Hall. The Lancaster Bomber, part of The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, also flew over Cardiff and circled 3 times when the band were playing Sunset and the RAF Ensign was being lowered by two members of The Queen's Colour Squadron.
